To be able to apply for asylum on the Greek mainland, you need to notify the Greek Asylum Service of your intention to seek asylum by calling Skype according to a certain schedule. On Monday, 1st of October, this schedule is changing. If you are an Arabic speaker in the region of Athens, you can call the Asylum Service at the following times: Monday 8:00 - 10:00, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 11:00 - 12:00, and Thursday 10:00 - 12:00. Arabic speakers not living in the region of Athens can call: Monday 8:00 - 10:00 and Thursday 10:00 - 12:00. The Skype ID to call for Arabic speakers is:
Dari speakers can call the Asylum Service via Skype on Monday and Tuesday between 10:00 and 11:00. Farsi speakers should call on Wednesday between 10:00 and 11:00.

Please be aware that applying for asylum through Skype is a terribly inefficient system. We have heard reports from asylum seekers trying to call Skype for months who weren't able to get through. Also keep in mind that this only applies for the Greek mainland and not for the islands. Also, if you are living in a camp in the North of Greece, you shouldn't call Skype, as your wish to apply for asylum will be referred by the camp administration to the responsible Asylum Office
