Some employees of the Greek Asylum Service will go on strike beginning from today, March 5, in protest of unpaid salaries. Employees of the Asylum Service with short-term contracts have not gotten their wages paid in the past three months. How this will affect refugees with appointments at the Asylum Service is unfortunately hard to say, as it is unclear how many staff members will join the strike and for how long. According to the Central Asylum Service in Athens, the Skype line is still working normally. However, some interviews or full registration appointments might have to be rescheduled. If you have an appointment today or in the next few days, please still go to it. At the Asylum Office, they will tell you if your appointment will take place or if it will have to be rescheduled for another date.
