The Speaker of the German government has announced today on Twitter, that Germany and Greece have made an agreement. According to the agreement, asylum seekers who have already applied for asylum in Greece and are smuggling onwards to Germany can be returned more easily to Greece if they are caught by the German police at the border. The details are unclear so far. This will be resolved in the next 4 weeks. In return, Germany has agreed to accept more Dublin family reunification requests. In recent months Germany has rejected a lot of them, for reasons that we perceive to be not very valid. We will keep you updated on how this agreement will be implemented in practice!
