If you have a close family member in another European country, such as your spouse or underaged child, you can apply for family reunification to them from Greece. This is also possible if you are an unaccompanied minor and your parents, siblings, aunt, uncle or grandparents are living in another European country. If you go to the Greek Asylum Service to apply, it is best to bring official documents proving the family relationship between you and your family member. These could include a marriage or birth certificate, a family book or family register. If you don't have official documents, it is good to check if you can bring documents proving your family relationship from your country of origin. If you are not able to bring any documents, it is also possible to provide circumstantial evidence, including pictures of you and your family member, accommodation rental contracts, letters or pictures of chats on Facebook or Whatsapp. Please also provide pictures of your family member's asylum seeker card or residence permit from the country where he/she is staying now. If you cannot bring these documents at the beginning of the application, please try to provide them as soon as possible. Here you can find more information about family reunification.
