About Mobile Info Team

Mobile Info Team (MIT) envisions a world in which people disadvantaged by displacement or migration have unhindered access to fundamental rights, dignity and the autonomy to shape their future. 

MIT’s work is built on two core pillars:

  • We work alongside people disadvantaged by displacement or migration in Greece to navigate complex legal systems by providing accessible information and tailored case support, empowering them to assert their rights.

  • We use our daily interactions with people to advocate for systemic change at national and EU levels, amplifying the voices of those affected by exclusionary policies and campaigning for a just asylum and migration system.

What we are looking for

A proactive, enthusiastic, strategic supporter of social justice that has prior experience in providing legal advice and information to people on the move, ideally in Greece. An excellent communicator, team player and motivator, culturally sensitive, self organised individual with a strong interest in navigating complex legal issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with external partners and organisations across Greece

  • Maintain and regularly update the referral sheet and service mapping

  • Build and strengthen referral pathways with key stakeholders

  • Organise and coordinate team trainings with external actors

  • Participate in partner coordination meetings (e.g. WAVE partners, Northern Greece Coordination, LGBTQIA+ Working Group)

  • Support onboarding of new team members and deliver induction trainings

  • Provide guidance and technical support to Caseworkers on day-to-day inquiries

  • Support the day to day operations of the casework team by monitoring workload, checking quality and providing constant feedback

  • Manage own caseload of long term legal cases in collaboration with lawyer and Legal Project Manager

  • Support the Human Resources Officer and contribute to team well being and capacity-building efforts

  • Conduct and support information provision and legal advice on the digital helplines according to the workload of the casework team.

  • Conduct legal research

  • Coordinate, supervise and participate in outreach sessions

  • Deliver trainings on the Greek asylum procedure. Provide additional trainings on demand (e.g. access to the Greek public healthcare system). Contribute to the development of internal training materials and guidelines

  • Contribute to MIT’s overall priorities and goals as part of long term and ad-hoc projects 

Profile

  • At least 6 months of experience in legal casework and/or information provision for asylum seekers and refugees, ideally within Greece

  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; additional competence in Greek, Arabic and/or French is strongly preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong understanding of cultural sensitivities

  • Ability to research and understand complex legal frameworks and their practical application in the Greek asylum context

  • Experience supporting or supervising other Caseworkers, volunteers, or team members is an asset

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks independently

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • High level of responsibility, discretion, and professional integrity

  • Experience working with NGOs, humanitarian organisations, or legal aid providers is an asset

Conditions

  • Compensation: 750 euros per month

  • Working hours: full time position for 6 months, possibility of working 4,5 days per week thereafter (with same compensation)

  • Commitment: at least 9 months, preference will be given to candidates who are able to commit for longer

  • Start date: mid March 2026

  • Holidays: 12 days off per 6 months, excluding Greek bank holidays

  • Location: the role is based in Thessaloniki, and you must be to reside and work in the EU

  • Working from home or remotely for short periods is possible in agreement with the needs of the team
